Northwestern Haigh Family Part 2

There's not much that warms my heart and makes me smile more than soaking in some good family time.
It was a sad day as our week long visit from the Seattle Haighs came to an end. Watching these girls play together this week has made my heart smile.
So many fond memories from my childhood were spent with my cousins. Happy to see our girls making some of their own.

Northwest Family Part I

We had a log awaited visit from the Seattle Haigh's this weekend. Equal parts activities on the go and down time made the weekend fly by.

We rented a giant commuter van because as it turns out this is the only vehicle which fits all 9 of us. So, us, our water bottles and backpacks made the trip to the city not once, but twice. The first was to tour the science museum. Always a good time and this time included a lightening exhibit...and a crazy, albeit a bit scary mirror maze.

The second trip to the city was a day at the aquarium. Fish, fish, frogs, and more fish. The girls even got the opportunity to pet star fish. Good stuff.

Down time was spent around the house and one unexpected trip to a hidden gem of a laundry matt...if there is such a thing.

There's not much in the world that holds a candle to spending time with Oma.

Thankful on so many levels for this little family of ours.

There's something to be said for toys that span generations. Watching our girls explore the toys of our childhood is such a cool experience.

Luckily, we have Oma. And Oma...she has some sort of super power ability to peak into the future and know exactly what toys, books and mementos we would cherish most to pass along.

Most recently the legos made their debut. Grace likes storing them in her mouth more than building with them, but Charlotte is thrilled. She has spent every spare moment the last 3 days creating whatever her sweet little imaginative mind dreams up. Lego love. Good stuff.

And see that pan there? It's storing small lego parts. It's also a very big deal. This is the THE one and only brownie pan. Grandma Susan never made a batch in anything else. Shortly after this was taken Troy deemed lego storage an inappropriate use of the pan.

Wonderful dinner at Grandma's house.
Easter baskets.
More candy than should be consumed in the period of a year.
Easter dresses.

Absolutely love coming back home.

Iowa Time

We're back in Iowa this weekend to celebrate the Easter holiday. Just spending some time with Grandma while we wait for the  Easter Bunny.
