Hanging Out

It's still akward, this room at the front of our house.
But it spurs creativity and some good photo moments if nothing else.
And the music, always music.

Happy Most Wonderful Father's Day!!

I asked Charlotte this morning: "What is your favorite thing about Daddy? "
"Just him. Because he loves me." She answered.

What a beautiful reply.

There truly is not a day that goes by in this world of ours that I don't silently express a certain amount of gratitude for this man being in our lives. I am continually reminded of his patience, thoughtfulness and selflessness on a daily basis.

Today, and everyday, we celebrate you. We celebrate your kindness, your humor, and your ability to keep your sanity while being cruelly outnumbered by women in this house.

Thank you for all that you do for our family. We hope you know how much we appreciate your unconditional love and support.

We love you.

Juneberries

When we moved into this house roughly a year ago we noticed the tree out front had started to bloom a few weeks in. Those blooms soon turned to berries.

At first we assumed that they were inedible. With a bit of help from google and a confirmation from the arborist who was here trimming one of our other trees we discovered that we had Juneberries.

Juneberries, it turns out, are somewhere  between a blueberry and a mulberry. We picked gobs. And while I tried to make some jam, most were enjoyed just simply picked from the tree.

So this year when the blooms appeared we all waited, err, patiently.

They are more like mid-Juneberries.

But once they started ripening the girls were out there every morning before school and every evening after getting "snacks"

Spent and Sunned

A full weekend packed to the brim with everything that gets summer off to a good start.

We started things off with a birthday celebration for one of Charlotte's friends. A backyard party with cake, friends and an appearance by Spider Man.
Charlotte rode her bike all the way there and back - 3 miles in all. We're going to love this bike riding stuff.

We also made our seasonal pool deputy. The water is still a bit chilly, but looking forward to more time there this summer.

We also got one of our many house projects finished up. We add shelves to our pantry to help store some kitchen surplus.
